1. Service Overview

Partoche is a free web application that helps you learn piano from PDF sheet music. The service analyzes your sheet music and transforms it into an interactive experience with a virtual piano.

The application is accessible at app.partoche.app.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using Partoche, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes become effective upon publication on this page.

3. Use of Service

3.1 Access

Partoche is accessible for free. Creating an account is required to use the service.

3.2 User Commitments

You agree to:

  • Use the service for its intended purpose
  • Not attempt to bypass security measures
  • Not use the service for illegal purposes
  • Respect intellectual property rights

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Partoche Content

All Partoche content (code, design, text, images, logo) is protected by intellectual property law and belongs to Partoche or its partners.

4.2 Your Sheet Music

You retain ownership of your sheet music. By uploading them to Partoche, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to:

  • Store, process, and display your sheet music to provide the service
  • Use your sheet music in an anonymized manner to improve our music recognition technology and algorithms
  • Generate aggregated and anonymous statistics about service usage

This license terminates when you delete your sheet music from our service, except for anonymized data already integrated into our systems.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the sheet music you upload and that uploading them does not violate any third-party rights.

5. Personal Data Protection (GDPR)

5.1 Data Controller

The data controller is Partoche.

5.2 Data Collected

We collect the following data:

  • Account data (if registered): email address, password (encrypted)
  • Uploaded sheet music: temporarily stored for processing, then deleted
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (for service improvement)

5.3 Processing Purposes

Your data is used to:

  • Provide and improve the service
  • Manage your user account
  • Contact you if necessary (support, security)
  • Analyze service usage (anonymous statistics)

5.4 Legal Basis

Processing of your data is based on:

  • Contract performance (service provision)
  • Your consent (for non-essential cookies)
  • Our legitimate interest (service improvement, security)

5.5 Data Retention

  • Sheet music: deleted after processing or after 30 days of inactivity
  • Account data: retained while account is active, then 3 years after deletion
  • Technical logs: maximum 12 months

  • Right to rectification: correct your data
  • Right to erasure: delete your data

  • The content of sheet music you upload

8. Modification and Termination

8.1 Service Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

8.2 Termination

You may stop using Partoche at any time. If you have an account, you can delete it from settings or by contacting us.

We may suspend or delete your access in case of violation of these terms.

9. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, we favor amicable resolution. Failing that, French courts shall have jurisdiction.
